Welcome to the Mallorcan’s annual edition of "the 50 most interesting people in Mallorca". These are the people we learnt about in 2022 who are doing and making things that left us feeling inspired by their work. The list is in no particular order.

Eva & Stefan met each other while studying viticulture, then working for different wineries for more than 10 years. They now produce an artisanal Mallorca dry gin from their distillery in Llucmajor.

Artist José María Sirvent created the family business, Wagyu Mallorca, in 2010 with a deep respect for the environment, natural foods and sustainable livestock. As a result of working in Japan in 1994, he ignited a great interest in the art of cattle farming used in raising Wagyu.

Brenda Irani and her husband first bought the property Son Braho in 2012. During quarantine in 2020 Brenda was inspired to find ways that her family could self-sustain themselves. The result was the Simply Son Braho Farm.

Circle Carbon Lab

Circle Carbon S.L. is a social enterprise developing an Advanced Soil Treatment using a Natural Pathway Technology for Carbon Negative Soil Regeneration and circular economy activities in the outskirts of Bunyola (9 km from Palma). Circle Carbon was founded by Christer Söderberg and Urs Winzenried in February 2018. Astrid Colomar joined the company soon thereafter.

Mistral Coffee is a roastery and coffee shop in Palma's old town, established in 2017 by Greg Schuler and Agata Mikulska. Mistral’s high graded ecological coffee is brought to the island from a range of countries.

Before Blissful Bastards Jose had directed a graphic design studio for 15 years. His new project was born in 2020, when he set out to look for a new granola formula resulting in Blissful Bastards.

Cate Stanton and Gus Alem, founding couple of Uco Bakery, opened their first shop-workshop in Palma where they have set out to make 100% sourdough bread with only 3 ingredients: flour, water and sea salt.

Alessandra is plant-based Holistic Chef based in Mallorca. With Cordon Bleu and Michelin Star training, and a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, she offers flavourful, health-conscious and refined culinary services.

Ross started Private Chef Mallorca in 2012 as a way to bring the very best dining experience directly to the people. He has traveled to hundreds of villas and unique spaces around the island, creating food memories and a lot of smiles along the way.

David is a beekeeper and his interest in the living conditions of bees is such that he even belongs to the beekeepers' association. He also runs the local brand, Mel Begot, selling bee products and providing environmental education.
